Tracing all the descendants of a given ancestor or generation, forward through time.
Descendancy research turns the usual direction of genealogy around. Instead of asking where did I come from?, it asks what became of everyone else? — the brothers and sisters who stayed behind when one sibling emigrated, and the families they built.
How the research proceeds
Starting from a chosen ancestor or generation, I follow each child forward through the records: births, marriages, deaths, and the households that formed from them. Because the work fans out with every generation, I keep you posted constantly on its progress, within the budget we agree on beforehand.
When it is useful
Descendancy research is the natural foundation for finding living relatives in Italy, for a complete family reunion, or simply for understanding a family as a whole rather than as a single line.
What you receive
Documented results with the records that support each branch, delivered by email or through a shared Dropbox folder.
